Mediation in Planning is owned and run by Rob Garnham, an experienced local government politician who has also worked at Westminster level.

He is one of Gloucestershire's most high profile politicians, leading the Scrutiny Inquiry into the 2007 flooding emergency feeding directly into Sir Michael Pitt's national review of the 2007 floods.

He was Chairman of the Gloucestershire Police Authority for 5 years, and the national Chairman of the Association of Police Authorities for two years, working closely with central government and Home Office officials. He is an associate member of the CIPD and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Rob has tremendous experience of determining planning applications. He currently serves on the planning committee of Cheltenham Borough Council, which he has done since 1996 and has previously been the Chairman for a period of 4 years. He also served on Gloucestershire County Council's Planning Committee From 2001-12.

In 2015 Rob was elected as a Councillor on Tewkesbury Borough Council.

He has a wealth of public relations and media experience, acting as the main spokesperson on flooding, policing and planning issues whilst Chair of those committees. He is a regular commentator on local government and policing in the press, on radio and television.
